With the majority of our neighbors in the rural San Luis Valley area requiring septic services in order to provide sanitary waste treatment on their property, it's fair to say septic is a critical part of our community infrastructure, keeping our water safe for veryone. It is also easy to assume one septic tank is much like another. However, this is not the case; not all septic tanks are well designed for a particular geographic area.

For instance, many competitors precasting here in Colorado manufacture a "clamshell" style tank. These have the chambers of the tank bisected lengthwise, mid-way or two-thirds of the way up the side of the tank. Such a design makes a seam run around the tank part way up the side. Sealing this seam so it is waterproof for the life of the tank can be very difficult in our area, and incorrect installation may damage the seam at the beginning of the tank’s use, leading to years of ground water infiltrating the system or sewage flowing out. While a very popular design, the clamshell style has proven over the years to be an inferior model to those offered here at San Luis Valley Precast. Our tanks reduce installation stress and offer years of worry- free use. Moreover, many areas we serve contend with high ground water; our tanks are specifically designed to combat buoyancy. Combining high-grade concrete and steel reinforcement into our customizable precast molds, we are able to render excellent tanks of varying sizes with outstanding cast integrity.”
